projects..

more and more projects coming in.. why?? i am really stress.. i didn't really get the time to even have a breather! i had to juggle my time.. as i had other outside lessons like japanese language and violin lessons. gosh! it's really horrible. when i spend time doing my project, i will neglect the my other lessons. this is really horrifying!! this week i went for my violin lesson.. to my utmost horror, i didn't practice.. and i played horribly. even though my teacher didn't say anything, i think my teacher was mad at me. argh!! so sad.. and for my japanese language lesson, i couldn't concentrate at all!! my mind wad filled with projects! tons and tons of projects!! argh! i think i might even have night mare about projects! gracious lord... ahahaa.
i have to admit... i didn't have time to study. i tried to study... but it isn't going in.. all i could do was to concentrate better during lessons.
hope the things said during lectures get in to my brain.. gosh. i need a long break...

Afiq's post

I have studied for my maths almost everyday so that i could remember the formulas. I also did my practices in my maths text book. Even though, I still had to re-sit my maths paper, i still did not give up. I continued to study. In the future i plan to create a study group with my friends for maths.

Academic goals

Specific:

I want to achieve an EPA 3.5 points for my first semester. Through this whole semester, I will be focusing on the things that are taught during lectures and practical. Whatever the lecturers say, I must be critical in thinking and to process the information in my head before I write it down. Writing down the information is to further reinforce the point. This will allow me to understand and remember the points more clearly. All this things are to be done every time I am studying. If I stumble upon any questions that I do not understand, the first thing I must do is to go look for the lecturers and clarify with them. Through this I will understand the subject more and this helps me to improve in my subject. In order to achieve EPA 3.5 points, I will have to work harder than most people. It is because I am not that outstanding in academic wise and I hope that u will work hard and reach my goal. Science had always been my greatest barrier. And to cope with that, I will have to do lots and lots of practices. These practices can be found in the Course Management System. Even though the system is not up yet, I believe this web is able to provide me a wide range of study materials and prepare me for the examinations. If the practices provided by my lecturers are not enough, I will also do some practices from the ten year series as the topics that are taught are similar to the things we had studied in secondary school. While doing these practices, I must also make sure that I understand all of the things that I have written. If not, all these efforts would go down the drain. Thus, it is important for me to check my answers and make sure that I am fully confident of them before I continue doing more practices. All these can be done anywhere and anytime during the day. So long as I have time, I should not waste them. If not, I will just be letting time slip past me... and this would lead to disastrous results. In addition, I hope that in a day I can finish revising 2 chapters or at the very least do some productive work.

Measureable:

For my daily activities, I will create a timetable. This timetable will include all the things that I will do from the moment I get out of bed and back to bed again. This will help me organise the things that is to be done and catch up with the subjects that I am lagging behind. For example, I plan to finish a chapter of metrology in an hour and another chapter of electronics and electrical principles. Will plan according to my time table stating that from 8-9pm, I will be revising metrology and the next hour I will be spending it on electronics and electrical principles. Like all timetable, it always seems so rigid. However, I will try to include break time so that I wouldn’t be so stress. Or I could include some activities to help me cope with stress and the workload. As I am a more artistic inclined person, I will try to do something more hands on so as to engage me better on the things that I am learning. Once I am done with a subject, I will strike off it off my to-do-list.my timetable will change weekly so as to have the maximum flexibility. This will allow me to improve on my weakness and thus re-enforcing on the things that are taught in sch.Achievable:Revising my work can be easily achieved as it allows me to re-enforce on the things that are taught. However, if I find difficulty in completing revising my work in the time limit, I will add a few more minutes for me to complete the chapter. There are other ways of doing revision. I can draw mind maps and this will engage me to my work more effectively. As for the class test and quizzes, I will try my best to achieve the best marks possible. Though these test, I must learn my mistakes and try to correct them. All my hard work and effort will pay off at the end of it. If I can achieve them, I am sure that I am able to fulfil my target.Relevant:Being able to study on my own and not rely on people for answers will help me achieve my long term goal of being an excellent student. In addition, this will allow me to be prepared of sudden pop quizzes and test. Not only will I feel good about having confidence in my answers and it will also allow me to pass the test with flying colours. Furthermore, I can prove to myself that everything is possible so long as I try. I say this because in the past, I never attempted to try cause I assume that getting as’ was an unachievable thing. However, I want to prove to myself that I can get a better result and not to be stuck with the Bs’ and Cs’. This in the long run will not only improve my academic results. It will also help me boost my confidence in myself as I know that I can do it. Like the Nike logo...”just do it!”

Time referenced:

Basically, I will be focusing on all my subjects for the whole semester. However, I will spare more time on my physics. Like for some subjects that include physics; i.e. electronics and electrical principles. That will be the main focus for my entire semester. Gradually, if I find that I might be lagging behind in a certain subject; I will try to do more exercises on it. My timetable is very flexible. As long as I find that I must focus on something, I will change my timetable to suit my pace. Thus, this will allow me to learn better and more efficiently rather than sticking to a rigid timetable. If at the end of the semester, I can achieve my goal, I will go treat myself a little. I will treat myself to a nice meal and hang out with my friends. I guess this is the best thing u can expect from life right? However, at the very end, everything lies in my hands. So I guess I better start now!!Shall upload pics sometime later..=)
